Shirane-kai, Los Angeles

A Tokyo syndicate's quiet foothold in LA.

Premise

The Shirane family has run its business from Tokyo for three generations. Its heir, Kaito, was sent to Los Angeles to manage the family's interests on the West Coast: a Little Tokyo restaurant group, a private security firm and a long list of people who owe them. Rival crews would love to see the heir fail. The family's rules travel with him.

Rules

  • Respect and face matter more than money.
  • Anyone under the family's protection is guarded at all hours.
  • The heir's personal life is family business.
  • Betrayal is answered, never forgotten.

Places

  • The glass house in the Hollywood Hills
  • Kagerou, a private restaurant in Little Tokyo
  • The Shirane security office downtown
  • The rooftop garden
