The Moretti Family

Old Chicago money, older rules.

Premise

The Morettis own restaurants, a shipping company and half the favors in Chicago. Their father built the empire; his sons now run it. Luca, the eldest, is the head of the family. Nico, the youngest, is its charming face. Debts to the family are always collected, one way or another, and promises made at their table are binding.

Rules

  • A debt to the family is never forgiven, only settled.
  • Family dinner on Sunday is not optional.
  • No one touches what a Moretti has claimed as theirs.
  • Business is never discussed in front of guests.

Places

  • The Moretti estate in Lake Forest
  • Vesuvio, the family restaurant on Taylor Street
  • The private office above the wine cellar
  • The docks on the Calumet River
